Summer holidays in the Zillertal

Hiking
During the summer months, when the white slopes turn back into lush green alpine pastures, the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region becomes a vast hiking paradise. The Mayrhofen campsite is an ideal starting point for the most beautiful hikes in the Zillertal Alps.
Ahornbahn & Penkenbahn in Mayrhofen
The Penkenbahn mountain station is the starting point for numerous mountain and hiking tours with a network of over 200 km of marked and well-maintained trails. Families and seniors can also enjoy long hikes on the well-maintained trails. The Ahorn mountain offers not only numerous hiking trails but also Lake Ahorn, which is a paradise for children in particular.

Zillertal Nature Park
The Zillertal Alps High Mountain Nature Park is located in the rear Zillertal, an impressive natural and cultural landscape north of the main Alpine ridge. The nature park covers an area of 379 km² and extends from approx. 1,000 m to 3,510 m. If you want to hike through the entire area, you will need seven days.
From Mayrhofen, the gateway to the nature park, the upper Zillertal valley branches out like fingers into various side valleys. The high mountain landscape has been protected since 1991. Public roads, helicopter flights and lifts for tourist purposes are completely prohibited here.
